Gazania, or treasure flower, is a daisy-like South African annual flower. They have large bright yellow, orange or red flowers, some with eye-spots at the base of the petals, in a variety of shades: brown, black, white or some combination thereof. These large, beautiful flowers have made them popular in gardens and has lead to extensive cultivation. Whilst the ease with which they hybridize has added to their popularity as an ornamental, this characteristic can make identification and taxonomic delimitation problematic.
